Subject

Description

Developed with the City Planning Commission beginning in 1950. Nolen & Swinburne were considered consultants in a cooperative relationship with the leaders of the university. The plan lays out development of thirty-eight acres of land extending from North Broad Street east to 12th Street and from Columbia Avenue (now Cecil B. Moore) north to Diamond Street. New structures would be kept to a four story height limit, thus eliminating the need for elevators and keeping to a design limit championed by Edmund Bacon.
