Added 500 beds. Erected on the site of the former Thomas Hall which housed the Music Department. It was demolished in 1998 despite protests.

Modernist

Built as the Bell Telelphone Corporate Computer Center on Temple's campus. It marked a return of industry to north Philadelphia, for a time. Built with GSA funding.

Built for the Reform Congregation Keneseth Israel (formed in 1847 and now located in Elkins Park) as the library and school. The synagogue was built in 1915 and destroyed by fire in the 1960s. Only the Alumni Building remained (now Rock Hall). …

This building will house those programs formerly in Barton Hall (to be demolished to make room for a new library building).

Collegiate Gothic

The Tyler School of Art was originally destined for this site, but for years was located in Elkins Park, just north of the city on an estate donated to the school.

Built to be a twin of Johnson Hall. This dormitory was for women only when it opened (Johnson Hall was men only).

This men's dormitory won many accolades for its innovative massing. It was followed six years later by a twin structure, Hardwick Hall.
